The Seven F’s in my Legacy for Spiritual Growth

Here it is March already and spring is around the corner.  We had a mild winter here in Alabama, but those of you who live in the Northern part of our country had quite a winter!  I pray that you took time in February (the month of love) to fall back in love the Savior.  I have been writing a book for my family for the past three years.  It is my Legacy to them.  I am working on the final chapter and have been praying about what I want them to know to be successful in their lives.  I have come up with seven components that I pray they will find as important as I have.  We are going to be talking a lot about them in the coming months.  They are listed in order of importance to me and are:

  • Faith
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Fitness
  • Finances
  • Fun
  • Future

This month, I want you to consider Faith.  It’s the most important thing in your life when you draw your final breath in this life.  Have you made preparations for the next life?  Have you been Scripturally saved?  Does your life speak for itself about your faith?  Those are some of the questions that you need answers to in order to have a successful life and to leave your legacy to those who will follow you.

The pastor who preaches your funeral won’t talk about your job, your bank account, your house or car.  What they will talk about is your faith or lack of it.  The Bible describes faith like this:  Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

My pastor, Daniel Harper, describes faith as: a belief in something or someone so strongly that it causes a you to act differently.  The disciples had it.  They believed in Jesus Christ so strongly after his death and resurrection that all but one of them died a martyr’s death rather than recount their faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.  Faith in Christ is believing in Him so strongly that it changes the way we act, think, behave, and live. Faith is what allows us to smile during tragedies and hardships.  It supports us during sickness and death and provides us with hope for each day.

I challenge you to look up scriptures that refer to faith this month and copy those that speak to you.  Hang them all around where you can see them each day.  Allow your faith in God to grow as you continue to study His words to you.  Have a great month, Hugs from me to you,
