The Seven F’s in my Legacy for Leadership

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to some warm weather and also the time change!  It will be good to wake up and it be daylight.

I pray that you have renewed your love with Jesus Christ in this month of “love”!  During March and following months, I would like to share my Seven “F”s of my Legacy that I am leaving to  my family who follow me.  I believe that they are applicable to all of us and especially to those of us in leadership positions.  I have listed them in my order of importance:

  • Faith
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Fitness
  • Finances
  • Fun
  • Future

Any position of leadership, no matter how great or small, must be one of faith.  We have faith in God to lead us and to provide what we need to lead others.  My Sunday school class has been studying the writings of Paul to his son in the faith, Timothy.  He charges Timothy to be faithful and today in our lesson, we talked about what that word means.  It literally means to be full of faith.   I strive to be full of faith, but there is always room in my life for more.  I believe that we use the word “faithful” often without understanding what it really means.  If we attend church every service, we might be called faithful, but does that mean we are full of faith?  I think it means that we are loyal, not faithful.  You might disagree, but that’s fine too if we can disagree agreeably.  I would love to know your thoughts on the subject.

The disciples asked the Lord to increase their faith in Luke 17:5

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith

That tells me that there was room in their lives for more faith.

It takes faith to be obedient to the Lord when He calls you to perform a task for Him.  We may not know any of the details, but as leaders, we need to learn to walk in faith toward His calling on our lives.

Abraham, the father of the Jewish nation, left his homeland to go to a place that God called Him to go.

Noah built an ark by faith when God commanded him

Abraham was prepared to offer his only son Isaac when God told him to do so and once God saw Abraham’s faith, He stayed Abraham’s hand

The many stories of the heroes of faith in Scriptures, leaders chosen by God, can encourage us to follow their examples of faith in God which leads to our obedience.

If God has called you to leadership, step forward in faith depending Him to provide and equip you with all the necessary tools that you need to get the job done!  Have a great month knowing that we are all praying for each of you, Margie
