A greeting card ministry is a fun way to make a difference in someone's life. Cards show people that they matter, they are known, they are valuable.
This is a wonderful ministry in many ways. Not only is it a way to connect with those around us it is also something a busy mom, youth, or elderly lady can accomplish. We have some WIGS who are chronically ill and they are able to have a flourishing ministry even though their own situation is difficult.
"Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep." Romans 12:15 This verse reminds us that we are called to share in the joys and sorrows of those around us. A card ministry helps us to not only show our love but God's love as well.
You may buy bulk sets of cards or you may have a card party with some friends and make cards. Include the youth in this activity. What a wonderful way to model service and possibly inspire them to serve others as well!
Keep your eyes open for those who would be blessed with a card. Consider pastors, shut-ins, missionaries, members of the military, the ill, new parents, those in need of encouragement. Also think of those who are having a birthday or anniversary, lost a job, are graduating, or have experienced a loss. There are many more occasions to send a card.
Let us know how you set up your card ministry and how God blesses it!
