Prayer is…a priority

What priority is your prayer life in your average day?  Give yourself an honest answer if the highest priority was 1 and the lowest was 10.  Did you give yourself a number?  Good, we are ready to start.

We have already discussed that prayer is personal and that our prayer is our praise to God, so now, we need to make our conversations (prayers) with God a priority.   Why should my prayer life have such a high priority you might ask?

Paul, one of the greatest Christians that ever lived, was teaching young Timothy about ministry and he told him in I Timothy 2:1

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

Paul told Timothy that first of all, before anything else, pray for all men.  Before you try to witness, evangelize, teach, minister, or serve, you must pray.  Prayer is the key to our walk with God.  Before anything else, not after you have tried everything else and found that nothing else works!

We all have that one person that we know, maybe in our family, our church or neighborhood that only gets in touch with you when they need something.  I know you know one and if you don’t know someone like that, it just may be you!!!!  My question to you is “how do you feel about that”?  How do you feel about someone who never calls, texts, writes or comes around unless they have a need that they want you to meet?  I hope that you aren’t going to say “that doesn’t bother me”!

It bothers me and it probably bothers you too if you really got to the bottom line.
