Greetings from Alabama once again. I’m not sure where you are, but Alabama is hot and another hurricane always seems to be coming to visit us.
We are so happy that you have joined us and are reading ideas that may help all of us to grow spiritually.
God doesn’t take vacations and although He wants us to enjoy our time here on earth, He wants us to stay close to him while we do it. I know that I have been guilty of slacking with my prayer time and Bible study when I’m traveling on vacation and I guess it probable happens to all of us some. So, how do we maintain that enthusiasm, that desire to spend so much time with our heavenly Father as we can ALL the time?
Even the Apostle Paul talked about it in II Thessalonians 3:13
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
All of us can become weary in our Spiritual life from time to time. If it can happen to Paul, then I don’t feel so badly when it happens to me. The solution is not to stay there when it does happen. First, we need to :
- Acknowledge it
- Repent from it
- Fix it
Acknowledge it. It’s like any bad habit that we get in to. It begins a little at a time and gradually slips until we find ourselves there. I don’t gain ten pounds overnight but all of a sudden, I am ten pounds overweight! Same thing.
Repent from it. Confess it. I am so sorry that I have drifted away from you Lod Jesus. I have let other things and people get in the way of my relationship with you and I am so sorry.
Fix it. Now that’s the hard part. It is never easy to change our habits. …any of our habits, but God in His grace will help us get back into a right relationship with Him if we are sincere.
Once again, King David cried out to the Lord in Psalm 51:12
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”
God will restore unto each of us the joy of HIS salvation. Notice that it is His salvation that our joy comes from. Nothing on our part but to accept it from Him. His joy, His love, His Salvation. When we begin to think about how much He loves and cares for His own, then we are on the road to recovery.
We are praying for each of you daily. Please be in touch with prayer requests and thoughts that you want to share.
Until next month, In His Love, Margie
