Fall Blessing

Hi everyone!  We are really so glad it’s finally Fall in the South!  Loving some cooler weather although we thought summer would ever end. We are getting ready for the Holidays that will soon be full force upon us.

We just wanted to remind each of you that these are perfect times for services.  Everyone wants to help during Thanksgiving and Christmas, so giving and serving just come naturally to us.  Those of us who are blessed usually want to share what we have with those who aren’t as blessed as we may be.

There are many organizations who help during the Holidays with food and toys for children, but we need to do our part.  What is our part?  I don’t know what your part is, but I know mine.  God shows each of us what we can do and gives us a passion for doing it.  I love women’s ministries and my WIGS group helps other women; older women, incarcerated women, battered and abused women, women who may be sick at home or in the hospital, women who are shut-n, women with no hope or help.

My group has visited nursing homes and given blankets to residents, visited Salvation Army Women’s shelters and provided hygiene items for their use.  We have collected and distributed underwear, Bibles, books and clothing for inmates in our County Jail as well as taken Poinsettias to shut ins.

We have held canned food drives to provide Thanksgiving meals to families who would otherwise not enjoy a good meal.  We have distributed meals to homeless members of our community and provided “Bags of Hope” for them to have necessary hygiene items such as soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo and body wash, plus clean dry socks and bottled water.

All of these services are our group’s way of sharing and giving back.  These are projects that we have chosen to do.  We are trying to make a difference in our little corner of the world, and you can do the same thing!  Just get together with some friends or family and decide a project that you can do and want to do.  Then DO IT!!!!  You will never regret anything that you do to help someone else.  Trust me, it is a wonderful experience that makes you feel good all over. There are so many needs around us that we can never meet all of them, but we can be found doing our part and not leaving it all up to others.  Why allow someone else to rob you of your blessing?

We will be praying for you as you choose your services and then take that step and complete them.  God will bless your effort.

Hugs, Margie
