Glad to see you back. Hoping that you have been busy making a list of gifts for the Savior this month. If you read last week’s blog, you have a good idea of what we plan to do this month for the Lord. We are going to put Him at the top of our gift list and give Him a gift each day of December.
Praying that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family. Hope the preparation helped make it a better one and if it did, please share with us so others can benefit.
What priority is your prayer life in your average day? Give yourself an honest answer if the highest priority was 1 and the lowest was 10. Did you give yourself a number? Good, we are ready to start.
The big day is almost here! Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I don’t know about you, but I am ready. I love my family to join with me and laugh, eat, fellowship, eat, play games, eat, watch football, eat, shop and eat some more! this is such a wonderful time of the year to gather and ponder all the blessings that have been ours over the past three hundred, sixty-five days and before. WIGS has a special focus on building a lasting legacy and Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that lends itself to making memories, establish legacies to leave to those that come behind us.
Now that we know that prayer is a personal conversation between us and the Lord, I want to remind you that prayer is also Praise. Praise to our heavenly Father for who He is.
Now that we are well on our way to a celebration of Thanksgiving, let’s take another minute to reflect on this important holiday. There are only a few other countries that have a holiday similar to American Thanksgiving. It was a time that the pilgrims set aside to give thanks for the good harvest, the friendship with the American native Indians, and the bounty of God Almighty. America has become a nation that is divided in so many ways.
Prayer is a conversation between you and God. It is from your heart to His heart and in order for it to qualify as communication, it must have all the components of the communication cycle.
ENTER HIS GATES WITH THANSGIVING
As we enter the Thanksgiving Season, we want to take just a few moments to remember what this time is all about. Our forefathers fought through so many hardships when they came to this land called America. War, death, disease, savagery, weather, almost like it is now!
Do you ever have a spiritual “Pity Party” and think that you are the only one who is doing anything worthwhile for the Lord? Elijah had a good party in I Kings 19:10:
10. And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
Time…………we don’t have enough of it do we?
So many books are published annually about time management and efficient use of it, how to work around it, how to use it wisely that we are inundated with the whole concept of time.
