Are You Ready to Serve?

Are you ready to start 2019 serving others?  WIGS is all about service.  We ask each lady to perform a minimum of one service each month.  That is such a small thing to do….just one!  God has given us so much.  We are a people of great wealth even if we don’t have extra money in our bank account or even have a bank account.  He has given us:

  • His only begotten Son
  • Salvation
  • Eternity in Heaven with Him
  • The presence of the Holy Spirit
  • His Word
  • Freedom to worship Him

These are only a few examples of our wealth.  It is our duty as well as responsibility to share that with others.  We are commanded to help others in His Word.  It really isn’t even a choice, but an order from God Himself!

God allows people with needs in our lives so we can display the gifts of service.   Mark 14:7

For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.  She hath done what she could: she is come ...

Mary had anointed the head of Jesus with expensive ointment for His burial and the people questioned why it hadn’t been sold and the money given to the poor.  Jesus said that there would always be poor.  Mary did what was needed right then for Jesus.  They are for us!  We need to help the elderly, the orphans, the widows, the children, each other, missionaries, and all those in need.  When we share the love of Jesus with someone by helping them, we are being a testimony for Him.  We are sharing Him.  That’s how we can open doors to tell someone about Jesus….by helping them and showing them His love in action.

No one person can do it all, help everyone, but together, we all can do it.  We can be organized and work together to reach a needy lost world around us.  It is possible if each of us will do our share.  It doesn’t cost a lot of money to do a kindness to someone.  Sometimes just a hug, a smile or a friendly voice is enough to help someone through a hard time.  We have all been there at some point and it should be easy for us to remember how much it meant to us when someone helped us.  That alone should motivate us to want to help someone else.  Remember, just once a month.  It will become more though because it is contagious!!!  Go help someone today!
